What You'll Do

Seto is one of the most famous places for pottery in Japan, with a long and proud history.

Nowadays, pottery craftsmen create a wide range of items from the local clay, and each artisan gives their objects a unique design inspired by Japanese and international influences.

At Gallery Moyu, an ever-changing number of artists exhibit and sell their works; first of all, gallery owner Akiko Nomura who decorates tableware with lovely floral patterns in pastel colors.

During this pottery painting experience, Akiko or one of her staff will instruct you in the art of painting pottery.

You can choose between two plans,

The Basic Plan where you will work with nine colors and simple techniques

Or the Premium Plan, where you will be instructed in the entire process of painting pottery using many colors and brush techniques.

After the instructions, you will be left in a quiet and inspiring environment to work on your artwork for as long as you would like, with occasional tips from the artisan.

  • Visit an old Japanese house transformed into a pottery art gallery
  • Paint a piece of tableware using basic or advanced techniques
  • Enjoy a drink and sweet set (only Premium Plan) or a cup of tea in a unique setting
