Yes, but please keep in mind the hike is 7.5 km (about 4.7 miles) and involves uneven terrain and forest paths. It’s suitable for active children aged 8 and up who are comfortable with longer walks. Younger children may find the distance challenging.
We do our best to accommodate dietary needs with advance notice. Please let us know at least one week before your tour if you have any allergies or restrictions, so we can prepare accordingly.
The tour runs rain or shine. The trail is still walkable in light to moderate rain, and the experience can be quite atmospheric! We recommend bringing a rain jacket or umbrella. In the case of severe weather, we’ll contact you in advance to discuss rescheduling or cancellation options.
The Magome to Tsumago trail is open year-round, but it’s best enjoyed from April to November. In winter (December–March), the trail can be slippery due to snow or ice, and some facilities may be closed. If you’re planning a winter tour, we recommend proper footwear and checking with us in advance.
Our team of guides has expanded from our co-founders, Lena and Elly, to include passionate Japanese and international guides living in and around Nagoya. Each of our guides loves sharing the unique aspects of Nagoya and its surroundings with travelers from all over the world.
They can’t wait to meet you!
Thanks to Patricia for a wonderful day’s walking the nakasendo and a delightful lunch in tsumago.
I had an amazing time on my tour! Patricia was great, and the hike was beautiful. I really enjoyed the lunch and the museum. The wood crafting workshop was really interesting, and I had fun making my own plate. I really appreciated Patricia adding extra activities since I walked so fast 🙂 I would highly recommend this tour and would definitely do another tour with Nagoya Is Not Boring the next time I’m in Nagoya! Thank you for everything!

Despite the weather forecast being bad, we did the tour all the same, but without the hiking. Lena was a competent and very fine guide, and there were no problems changing the itineraire on the fly.
It was a very good experience and we can only recommend it highly
