Why Visit Gifu?

Gifu is one of the most accessible day trips from Nagoya, offering a unique combination of mountain scenery and deep historical significance. The city played an important role during Japan’s unification period and remains closely associated with the powerful warlord Oda Nobunaga .

Unlike more crowded destinations, Gifu provides a relaxed and authentic experience, making it an ideal choice for travelers who want to explore beyond the typical tourist route.

Important Notice: Gifu Castle Renovation (May 2026 – October 2027)

Please note that Gifu Castle and the Gifu Castle Museum are currently closed due to seismic reinforcement and renovation works until 2027.

During this period, the tour will still operate with an adjusted itinerary for this castle visit. We will take the ropeway up Mt. Kinka, enjoy the mountain scenery and panoramic views over Gifu City, see Gifu Castle from the outside, and share the story of the castle and its importance in Japanese history.
