Begin your exploration at Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse, the main hub of Ghibli Park. Here, your guide will share fascinating details about your favorite Studio Ghibli movies and the exhibits on display. Enjoy your Nagoya Specialty Bento Lunch in the open air.
This area is for hardcore Ghibli fans as it is themed after some lesser-known movies such as “The Cat Returns” and “Whisper of the Heart”.
Mononoke Village is the smallest of Ghibli Park’s five areas. Here you will find the world of Princess Mononoke waiting for you. Included are some sculptures and a house inspired by the Tataraba Iron Town building from the movie.
The largest outdoor area in Ghibli Park is Valley of Witches where witchy buildings from multiple Ghibli Movies such as “Kiki’s Delivery Service,” “Howl’s Moving Castle,” and “Earwig and the Witch” have been recreated (these buildings cannot be entered with the Ghibli Park O-Sampo Pass). This is also the only area in the park that offers rides! For an additional cost, children can enjoy the Flying Machine from “Castle in the Sky” and both adults and children can ride a carousel decorated with vehicles, animals, and characters from many of Studio Ghibli’s films.
The home of Totoro and his neighbors Satsuki and Mei. While you can’t visit the inside of the house, it is already quite interesting to see from the outside. Don’t forget to stop by Dondoko Shop to pick up some lucky amulets!
As the day comes to a close you can choose to spend the remaining time before the park closes exploring a little more or you can head back to Nagoya Station with your guide.

Meet Erica, an American whose love affair with Studio Ghibli began with the mesmerizing experience of seeing “Princess Mononoke” in theaters. From that moment on, she was captivated by the enchanting worlds and compelling narratives crafted by Studio Ghibli.
Erica’s passion for Japanese culture and history knows no bounds. In an attempt to meld her three favorite things: history, food, and talking, she joined Nagoya is not boring as a tour guide back in the summer of 2023. Most days she can be found expounding on the superiority of red miso in cuisine and regaling guests with stories of the Nagoya of old.
My two teens and are huge Ghibli fans and were just trying to get to the park. Our guide Erica made it into a exceptional experience. We could not have had such a good time without her. It takes two trains to get there and Erica the American who speaks fluent Japanese navigated it expertly. She could explain Japanese customs and expectations. During our visit, there was an accident on the bullet train which closed down the service to Tokyo for the day. We had been planning to travel by bullet train to Tokyo that evening. Erica informed me of the situation and then helped find and book a hotel to stay in Nagoya for the extra night. She then returned to guiding us through the park as she knows where to go and what to avoid at certain times. Erica was warm, vivacious, knowledgeable, and a Ghibli fan herself. Our Ghibli Park trip is now a highlight of our visit to Japan. I highly suggest going with this company. It is worth it.
